OSP FIELD ENGINEERS:

Role Description:

This is a contract Outside Plant Engineer role that involves on-site work in each market. The Outside Plant Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks involving OSP Engineering, Network Design, OSP Construction, and OSP management.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering, Network Design, and OSP Construction.
  • Knowledge of OP management and experience with OSP projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/GIS software and outside plant design tools and systems.
  • Experience in OSP route planning, preparing construction drawings, and contract changes andmodifications.
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal skills.

Additional qualifications that would be beneficial areexperience in CAT or telecommunications industry,experience with FTTP planning and design, and ability towork well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Network Maintenance Technician:

Role Description:
  • Perform cable installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Possess knowledge in all types of splicing activity,
  • cable and safety test equipment and use of all types of cable equipment.
  • Locate and repair cable faults to maintain existing cable network without causing signal failure interruptions.
  • Use of fault locating, diagnostic testing, analysis, repair, digging/uncovering, and switching equipment and tools.
  • Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for the cable network.
  • Confirm accurate cable terminations on cross connect, patch panels, hubs, modules and routers.
  • technical manuals for cable installation feasibility.
  • Review site surveys, condition discrepancy reports, design drawings,
  • Understand construction prints and splice schematics.
  • Maintain project tracing information such as production sheets, time sheets, and customer required paperwork.
  • Maintain safe and secure work environment by complying with Government standards and legal regulations.
  • Understand and follow OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate by phone frequently throughout the​ workday.
  • Follow direction(s) specifically delivered from crew leader
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Requires night, weekend, and travel work.
  • Will successfully complete training and instruction that includes, but not be limited to, the following topics: Troubleshooting to Node and Return Path, Track and​Repairs CLI, Power Supply Maintenance, Forward and Reverse Alignment and Safety Program
